    So I can’t use this on my iPhone. Called customer support to help(this is the only way I have to use Playster) they sent my issue to tech support a week ago and they haven’t gotten back with me. I called to see if they had made any progress, and the customer service rep got defensive just from me seeing if they had found a solution. They told me I could use the web browser version on my phone, but so far that hasn’t work either. Wish I had never done the 12 month contract.

    Normally, I can work with an apps ups, and downs, and be content with just rating using stars. BUT, here’s the deal. This app was fantastic a few months ago. Now? Let me tell you, now the app insists that you pay a premium for audiobooks. I wouldn’t have minded the price that I thought I was upgrading to being $14.95. I go into my audiobook list, and go to listen to one, that has been on my list for ages, and it tells me that I need to upgrade with the price being $19.95 for the remainder of this month! Next month with be $29.95! I might as well go for unlocking EVERYTHING the app has to offer at this point. I understand that the company is growing and what not, but there needs to be a line. I signed up for this app only needing to pay 8.95 a month, with access to all the audiobooks I could read. Now, I don’t know if its worth the signup. Not to mention, a few of the “premium” books, can be found on YouTube, or a local library. If it was brand new titles, and an abundance of them, I would. Otherwise, be warned. You might not be getting what you paid for.

    I hope this is temporary. When the site works it’s great. Customer service is very slow. Audiobooks selections are good; if only it would work for me, again. Sad.
  • Bait and switch

    I switched to Playster from Audible. The app kept crashing and not saving my place in my books. There are many many folders of different genre’s of books, but 90% of the folders are empty! And when I did actually find a book I wanted to listen to, I’d click on it, only to be told it was a premium book and I needed to pay MORE to upgrade to a higher subscription level. Mind you, there were several books that became premium books WHILE I was listening to them, and thusly prevented me from finishing them. No warning, no grace period. This is terrible business practice. I don’t expect Playster will be around much longer. I happily went back to Audible and never looked back.
  • App does not work half the time

    Half the time the app does not work. Keep getting a be patient from Playster customer care. Apple is no help at all. Be very careful on how you buy this plan as the prices change all the time. And it only works half the time. I have mine debited from my PayPal account from Playster. But when I try to use the app Apple wants me to upgrade for more money. They really need to get some technician that know how to fix all these problems. If they could fix the problems and quit messing with the prices and get online with Apple. This would be a great thing to have. But I get so frustrated with all the bug, The app not working and raising the prices after you initially pay for a lower price

    The app seems to be down more often than not. The people who answer the phone have no idea what is going on, just feeding me scripted lines over and over when asked a question they can not answer. I was really excited for this app and when it works it is great, but unfortunately it doesn’t work consistently. They offer no compensation other than “oh gee sorry, too bad for you paying for you, paying for something that you can’t use”
  • Love the service but the app needs a lot of work!

    Update: they have fixed the log in issue but now another bug has appeared. Now every time I click on an audiobook to listen to, it gives me an error message that says “Error getting data from server; please verify connection and retry.” I’m really beginning to consider canceling my account with this service... I’ve been using this service for many months and I love it. I use it only for the audiobooks and I tend to find about 99% of the audiobooks I want to listen to so I had no qualms with paying the the higher price for the premium audiobook subscription. But geez, if you’re gonna charge us the double the price, at least fix this app! It constantly logs me out and crashes. And then when I try to log back in, if keeps telling me that the password is wrong! So I go on the website and change the password and it still doesn’t work! This is extremely infuriating. PLEASE FIX THE APP!

    I’ve talked to 2 different people about how the app doesn’t open. And they said, it’s the weekend, so no one can help and fix the problem. So there’s no on-call person in case the app doesn’t work for IPhone users? Are you freakin kidding me? They made the mistake and now they don’t care for their customers. They won’t help you out, all they say is, “it’ll be back probably end of the day Monday, oh i can’t make and guarantees though.” Why raise prices if the app isn’t going to function properly. Why raise prices if there is no guarantee about the app. All we can do as a consumer is hope that the app has no problems on weekends, because there’s no one that can fix the issue. March 4, 2018 The goes wrong again. I can’t listen to a audiobook. They don’t really fix the problem, they just do enough to get the app to work. The same problems, but no real fixes. So terrible.

    I started my subscription in January. After they got me for $61.99 for just audiobooks in February I haven’t hardly been able to use the app or the website. Many emails and many phone calls to no avail. Called over a week ago they said my app issue would be escalated . Wasn’t escalated until yesterday. And low and behold I log on today to try and listen to audiobooks to find out that my membership was canceled after iTunes has already charged me and payment was withdrawn from my account. Call playster sit on the phone yet again to prove that I paid the subscription and they canceled my service to be told I have to email support with a photo of the funds coming out of my account and that the problem of reinstating my service that they canceled would take two or three days and that the person I spoke to on the phone would follow up and make sure the problem was resolved. They didn’t even follow up when I emailed them about my password that I had changed repeatedly with the customer service rep in emails. And they never followed up with the return email or phone call after I talked to a phone rep two weeks ago about the app saying I’m not a premium member. So if I go another month without being able to use this service I am canceling. And if Audible wasn’t so expensive I’d go back. At least the books play from where you left off and the chapters show that your actually on the chapter your on!!!!!! Very disappointed with this app and service!!!!
