  • Greedy Company

    By fiberteck
I have been using them since 2013. Paid for the full version. Then paid for the desktop version. Again paid with new update. Now they want to charge more money while taking away the sync features that were in the old software. How about create Day One V2 and sell it as a diff product. Overwriting the classic app and forcing to pay is not fair practice. The company can make a beautiful app however they have lost my trust as I don’t know what they will do in the future. Leaving the app for good.
  • Great Support, Clean Design

Support has gone above and beyond to assist my case completely. Comforting to have such clear and effective troubleshooting. Not a heavy user and not the most tech savvy but the app is just well designed. Even for my limited usage there just is nothing else out there that does it right. Thank you.

  • Hesitant at first, but really easy to use

I only care about a simple, easy to use interface. The faster I can get to writing before I forget my thought the better. This journal does just that. It's clean, simple and very functional. Plus it comes with a lot of features I'm interested to explore--metadata, tags, syncing etc. I paid for the premium yearly subscription to sync across my devices, which probably isn't worth it if you're not serious about journaling. I've been relying on it every day and it's been a huge help to have Day One wherever a though occurs.
  • 5 Stars! Beat app I've used.

This app is a gem. Support is lightening fast! Features are off the hook. Just buy it and change your life. The Journal Printing alone is worth many times the cost. I've used it for 5 years and it just keeps getting better. New IFTTT integrations are amazing!
  • Wish they didn’t do the subscription thing... 😢

Day One is one of my favorite apps of all time, but disappointed by the new $50/year subscription thing(which I do understand that I can still use the app without it).
  • Slow, Inefficient, Unstable, Cluttered

First, let me say that I’ve been using Day One for years. It’s been an excellent app for securely writing my thoughts and personal feelings for a long time. Over the last several updates, Day One has been gradually becoming worse and worse. The interface has become jam-packed with features that I have absolutely no need for. Adding tags to entries is a fruitless endeavor since tags populate slower than an obese panda trying to run. Resuming the app from background causes a crash 90% of the time. To top it all off, I open Day One when I need a hand warmer. It literally heats my phone up. The battery drains as if I were playing Infinity Blade. And all it’s trying to render is text. I thought that was a solved problem.
