Compare trends over the weeks, months or years. BATTERY CONSUMPTION Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Life Cycle does not use the GPS in the background, but instead relies on cell tower and Wi-Fi locations. As a result, it consumes less than 1% of your battery per day, when the app runs in the background. REQUIREMENTS • Life Cycle needs to run in the background to be able to record your data. It only uses 1% of your battery per day when doing so. • You need to carry your phone with you, for Life Cycle to accurately record and interpret your activities. • Wi-Fi should be enabled on your phone for tracking to work. The optional Premium subscription costs $9.99 per year. Should you choose to subscribe to Life Cycle Premium, the purchase will be charged to your iTunes account. You can manage or cancel your auto-renewable subscription by entering the user settings in iTunes after the purchase. The subscription will be auto-renewed 24 hours before the subscription period ends, with the same kind of subscription you already bought, to the same price. • Great - just missing one thing

    By Adaml30001
This app is pretty good. It’s stopped a lot of arguments between my wife and I about how long we’ve been somewhere or how long things took. It helps me plan as well my trips because I can see an average travel time for certain trips. It’s just missing one thing: to be able to see my activities in a chronological view. Every now and then it will miss a few minutes or hours, and I have to manually go through all the events to see if it missed something. Or if I want to edit an event, I need to go through and see all the events. A chronological view of my events for the day would be very helpful. Like a time line. Not just a donut

I’ve been using this app for about a year and it has been pretty good. However recently the app has been screwing up more and more. It sometimes shows me at the geographical location of my home (correct) but says I am eating at a taco place five miles away. It is also telling me I have gone on five hour walks. I know I haven’t been doing that! I am on v2.0.2.4022 Update 5/22/18. Things are going from bad to worse! Life Cycle which once was a great app now misses about half of the activities that I do. It notices when I am driving only half of the time. It put me at home when I actually at work 20 miles away and it has also decided that there is Cafe Rio Mexican restaurant in my house. I thought it might be a problem with my phone so I checked other apps. My phone knows when I am traveling. And it has my location. Also checked my Life Cycle settings and they seem to be in order. I don’t get it. Guess I’ll go downstairs and order a taco.
  • Potentially useful, definitely interesting, but needs more options to be worth premium fees

I highly recommend this app if you’re looking for a free chance to see snapshots of how your time is utilized on a large scale over time. I would like to see some more features incorporated to make this app truly great. Most importantly, I’d love to have the option of customizing which smaller activities will be rolled into commute/transportation activities. My ~1 hour at the the gym shouldn’t always get rolled in to my drive home from work. However, it makes perfect sense that stopping to pick the kids up from daycare or getting gas on the way is rolled in. I’d also like to see a larger selection of thumbnails for activities, as well as a total color palette option for activity icons. Conceptually, this is a great app, especially for being free. But, it needs some more polishing before I’ll purchase the premium service.
  • Fascinating!

I thinks this is a very interesting look at your life. I am entertained and learning about my days. I would love to see some kind of parent-child relationship on activities so I can roll biking and running into exercise, for example. Also it considered biking after work as a commute but that is not right. I haven’t figured out how to separate that.
  • Cool, but after a year, I’m not sure I need it

Actually I’m quite sure I don’t. If I needed help with time mgmt, notifying an app that I’m “home” for 10 hours doesn’t help me recall what I did while at home, and therefore does not, in fact, help me much at all.
  • Great concept

I’m really enjoying the idea of life cycle. I just think it’s missing out on some simple features that would make it really cool. It’d be great if it tracks the time spent on podcasts, YouTube, audiobooks, to see how different apps/media are a part of, and effect your life.

  • Only one recommendation

    By waveymua
I like the app a lot but my biggest complaint is the inability to combine activities. For example, if I’m home, I often have friends over and that time won’t be logged as with friends with will be logged as home. I think we should be able to combine activities rather than I have to manually put the activity in. Other than that, I like the app in general. Update: I also remembered I get annoyed when I visit work for non-work reasons (I work at a grocery store and movie theater so sometimes I’m shopping or seeing a movie) and it’s just logged as work because of the location. I don’t know to manually change that and it messes up my work hours.

The app gives good summary of where you’ve been and for how long which is helpful. I’d like it to add the option to determine how I spend the most time on my phone.
