  • Great but think it could be outstanding with some adjustment

Overall I adore this app and it's definitely helping me read more due to the motivating goals and such. The two things I'd like to see is 1) ability to track audio books (tracking progress by minute mark) and, to a lesser extent, a way to differentiate a borrowed book. I know you can track which books you yourself lend, but I have a book I'm currently borrowing from a friend but there's no way to flag it as one I do not own (part of the appeal of the app is to keep track of what I have so I don't buy something twice, something I have unfortunately done...). Otherwise, this app is fantastic and I love it ❤️
  • NOT compatible with iPad

I was so excited to share this app with my daughter so she could use it on her iPad mini, but the app is not compatible and shows a huge black border around the app. It also has the “1x/2x” zoom options which indicate that there are no iPad assets in the project. This app should NOT say it’s compatible with iPad without the assets that enable the app to perform as it should. Note to support: I can provide screenshots if needed as I used to be QA for mobile applications.

I just paid for the year subscription, and discovered that I can’t even edit the read dates of books I’ve read. I cannot view my books as a list, my books read is not being updated, and I cannot edit my challenge dates. I heard that this was a great app for avid readers, but I think I’ll just stick with Goodreads.
  • This app is amazing. 11 out of 10.

I have no bad things to say about this app. It's a beautiful interface, and is just a blast to use. I do have a few suggestions though: 1: The bar at the top that says it's syncing with iCloud seems out of place with the rest of the design. It's only there for a few seconds, but it still seems like it doesn't belong there. 2: Apple just announced Siri shortcuts in iOS 12, and it would be awesome if you guys could make a shortcut for starting the reading timer. It would just be so much more convenient to say something like, "Hey Siri, I'm gonna read now," and she automatically starts the time tracker. This would be an awesome feature, and make it easier to just sit down and read, without having to go in and a launch the app. 3: It would be nice for Bookly to have a Mac app to use if you're reading a book for school, and want to take notes in Pages, for example, while you read. Also, if you do make a Mac app, it would be awesome to have handoff compatability. That's it, and thank you so much for this amazing app!

Pros I love thetimer/tracking and infographics it puts together. Cons -the photo-to-editable text feature advertised is trash. Does not work at all, and that was why I paid to download it. So I was rather disappointed. -the goal feature is terrible. If you finish a goal before 30 days it forces you to set the next goal for the next 30 days instead of the next month which is pointless for me. (So if you meet a goal on say, the 23rd, your next monthly goal only runs to the 23rd. It’s obnoxious. It also says it ends on a stated date but it actually ends the day before. This feature would be fun but is useless to me because of these issues. This has a lot of potential, but the advertised features need to actually work and the weirdness of the goal system needs to be fixed. EDIT: received a thoughtful response from the developers- looking forward to hopefully increasing my rating as they tweak the goals and finetune the image to text feature. I do not think the printed standard fonts in published books or the camera on my iphone are the issue. Iphones take crisp pictures and the books I’ve tried it on use normal standard fonts and it still produces complete gibberish. (Like weird symbols, not even words)

$20 dollars for 6 months to track the books I’ve read? No thank you. Excellent idea and the app is premier but I’ll keep my money for things that actually matter
