Rehearsal® Pro App Details

Rehearsal® Pro is the app for actors! Want to learn your lines? Want to be off-book, and book more work? Rehearsal® Pro is the app for that. Its predecessor, Rehearsal® 2, featured in the New York Times, Fast Company, LA Magazine and BACKSTAGE, became the entertainment industry standard for cast and crew to organize their scripts for auditions and working on set. Battle tested in Hollywood and around the world by professional actors and acting students. And now, there's Rehearsal® Pro. "I love this app! Rehearsal® lets me learn my lines in the car while I drive to work. It already saved my butt when I was thrown a major new dialogue scene 45 minutes before we started shooting it. I plugged the new scene into Rehearsal and I was off book by the time I got out of the make up chair." -Clark Gregg (Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Desperate Housewives, New Adventures of Old Christine) "I am very pleased with the results of using Rehearsal® so far. It is a powerful tool in preparing for auditions, or for days of work, especially when I am pressed for time. It is easy to use and I have no doubt that as it evolves, it will be a part of my work process for a long time." -John Carroll Lynch (Shutter Island, Dexter, The Drew Carey Show, Body of Proof) Rehearsal® Pro is - extremely easy to use, solid and reliable - intuitive: it reminds you of what you do with physical scripts - usable with any current iOS device, and syncs script markup between all of them - costs one low price for unlimited usage For actors from every walk of life and all areas of accomplishment: - works with short audition sides, to feature length scripts - easily handles physical scripts by bursting and scanning to PDF - for every actor at any skill level, student, amateur or professional - for every actor in every arena, from community theater, commercial, industrial, stage, web, VO, television, and film - get help with on-board demo videos that show you how to do nearly everything Manage your scripts easily: - Sync scripts between your devices - Manage scanned-in scripts for theater productions - Rotate, crop, collate and tint your pages - add physical scripts by snapping pictures of pages - create bookmarks and easily jump to a particular page - work with the same PDF and Word files you get on your computer - easily break down your script into your scenes - reading your script is a snap - just flick and scroll Learn your lines quickly: - highlight your lines and your scene partners' lines in vibrant colors - record your lines and play them back, watching the script scroll by like a teleprompter - quickly fast forward or rewind to pick up lines simply - record unlimited versions of scenes, exploring your character and creating new reads - automatically repeat your scene over and over until you know your lines cold - group multi-scene auditions into one repeating scene - pause recording and playback - play peekaboo to memorize - reveal your lines in blackout mode - quickly add beat marks to longer passages Explore your characters - easily create and review comments: text, audio, photo or video - record different takes on lines, different looks for characters - have all your choices at your fingertips for instant review Special features just for voice talent - audition for voiceover work from anywhere - email in your auditions as MP3 files from anywhere to anyone Everyone on the production team can use Rehearsal® Pro - location scouts can create quick and easy reports - makeup, wardrobe, set dressers: keep track of continuity and looks from scene to scene - directors and cinematographers: plan shots and create on-the-fly storyboards Rehearsal® Pro was created by a working actor just like you, David H. I've only had this app for about 4 days and it keeps freezing and churning!!! I had to go to Adobe reader to finish reading the script!!! I have auditions and if this app is not working properly, I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! I didn't PAY for this app for it NOT to work!!!

My app freezes and won’t let me back out of areas easily. I like the ease in being able to learn lines with this program, but I do get frustrated with the “ease of use.” I think it could be a bit more streamlined.
  • $20 and no trail or refund option 😠

The application looked really good and was recommended on multiple websites however the app didn’t work for me I tried multiple times to get it refunded because I didn’t even use the app but it was impossible get a refund very disappointing that I pay $20 just to try the app and I still can’t have a way to refund my money.
  • The most expensive, useless update ever!

So the original Rehearsal 2 was just fine and had already cost me $20 which is ridiculous for an app that, for the most part, just uploads scripts in one place. I tried the highlighting and using my iPad at rehearsals and for auditions, but since you couldn’t print it (with all of the lovely tools like writing and highlighting) what was the point really?! Using a heavy, breakable (and expensive) toy that could easily be dropped in an emotional or other scene or audition is not a good compounded stress. At least paper can be ripped, dropped or used as a prop. And the bottom light on your face can make you look bad. Unfortunately, the new Apple update made it unavailable. With all my scripts for years held hostage! I was forced to buy an update for another $20 (Rehearsal Pro) which is no better, and the new additions are mostly useless without basic options the first one should have had, like rotate or send to email for God’s sake! Who wants to gift a script to the developer or Twitter?! What’s the point of having all these great tools if you can’t send or print it?! Even email and texting can do that. I merely use it as storage for all PDF scripts to merely read. This update should have had more useful new tools and should be free. Don’t buy this. Look at the other acting apps. Not good. And the most troubling is the developer read my review and emailed me that my review “was a big mistake” and “I hope you never need help from me again. I mean, is he in the Mafia. Very unsettling and I cannot believe he has the emails of the reviewers and intimidates them.
  • What a valuable tool!

Last spring I had one week before a three week rehearsal to learn a huge play where I was never off stage and never stopped talking. It was called Uncanny Valley and ranged from intensely scientific monologues to wildly emotional ones. And I had to commute to Long Beach! I honestly don’t know how I could have done it without Rehearsal. So excited to now have the updated version of Pro and see where it takes me. Thanks again for creating this very valuable tool. :)

Rehearsal Pro is really helping me to learn my lines. I am relieved from getting off book which has been my primary obstacle in my acting career.
  • My favorite way to learn lines

I am the kid of two actors, and so the method of learning lines has been a discussion my entire life. This app is my favorite method I have ever found. The ability to hear my recording on a continual loop is the best line-drilling partner ever. The black-out-your-lines option is also one of my favorites. It also syncs w your devices, so I can learn lines on my iPad and then drill them while on my phone. The developer is really responsive too. I recommend it to all my friends.
  • Adequate, but just.

Are used the previous version of the app, and upgraded to this one on the recommendation of the developer. While most of the functions work well, when they work, quite often the app hangs up or just simply crashes and closes. The feature I use the most is highlighting lines and recording scenes – likely the most common for most people. Managing scripts and scenes, etc., it's not easy. The app follows the traditional iOS protocol for editing and deleting things, but the app itself hangs with the spinning circle. Overall, I like this app. I do think it is expensive, given that the features that work reliably in this app can be found in many others, and for significantly less money.
  • Inconsistent at Best

What upsets me is this. The last app was glitchy and crashes a lot and inconsistent and instead of fixing that app and adding new features, a new glitchy inconsistent app is here to replace the old glitchy inconsistent app. If it worked it would be amazing. I've attempted to record a scene 4 times and it keeps crashing. I've reset my phone-I've walked away. This app is over praised and under kept. I will likely re download the old crappy one and hope that it works more consistently than this one.
  • A HUGE help!

I like to give praise where & when it's due and it's due to you, David. As you know, I downloaded your app yesterday to use in prepping for an audition I had today. I can honestly say I literally felt more prepared than I've ever felt for an audition! Most importantly, I know I did the best job I could have done. Thank you! And I appreciate that you went beyond the call of duty, on my behalf to help me also download it to my iPhone. Having the app in my pocket was icing on the cake. In the waiting room, where everyone else was sitting there with their eyes glued to their sides—with occasional glancing darts to the others in the room—I was living in the scene with my headphones in and my sides playing.
