I like using apps over safari, so getting all the content I paid for in this app is great! The app is built very well, and the content is great!

Nice writing, interesting pieces, and cheap enough to notice the difference between ads and no ads. Definitely a must for sports fans.

Biggest waste of money I have ever made. Bernie is terrible bitter man that doesn’t put much thought into his writing given his lack of intellectual honesty. He alone is the reason that I will not renew.
  • Joined for Russo, but it’s all great

Mike Russo is boss... love his writing and covering of the wild. The Athletic has done amazing job getting some of the best sports writers. It’s better than bleacher report and espn. There’s actual meaning and truth to there writing.
  • The best in sports journalism, bar none.

This is the kind of in-depth reporting nobody else does. Even if you follow only one team it is well worth the price of your annual subscription, and if you follow multiple leagues or teams it’s a downright bargain. You don’t have to turn your brain off to enjoy sports.
  • A thoughtful alternative

I love The Athletic. It’s a sports mag for people who get the allusion to The Atlantic, as well as those who just miss deeper, smarter coverage of their team. ESPN is excruciatingly banal - squelching their own best young voices - it’s the blandest if bland. The Athletic has a point of view, and it’s a thoughtful, fun-to-read one.
