AutoWake. Smart Sleep Alarm App Details

AutoWake is the first haptic smart alarm for your Watch. It can wake you up by tapping you on your wrist using your Watch's haptic engine. You can set it to wake you if you are in light or medium sleep either 15 or 30 minutes before your set alarm time. This helps you feel more refreshed. There's an optional sleep cycle buster that you can turn on to give you a light tap at 5 minute intervals in a 15 or 30 minute window before your alarm to take you gently out of deeper sleep. Not only that but it will even automatically measure your waking pulse just before the alarm sounds, which is a valuable measurement of recovery. If you ignore the alarm on the Watch, you can also set a safety alarm that will play on your phone. This will speak and/or play a chosen song from your music library. There's daily bedtime reminders and auto scheduled alarms in case you forget to set your alarm before bed. If you also use AutoSleep our auto sleep tracker, when you turn on your alarm, it can automatically tell AutoSleep that you have gone to bed so that time to fall asleep can be tracked. Your AutoSleep 7 day trailing sleep average also appears in your bedtime reminder. If you use Apple HomeKit then you can run scenes for key events in AutoWake like turning off your bedside lamp and setting your room temperature for sleep. AutoWake requires an Apple Watch running WatchOS 3.2 or higher (WatchOS 4.3 (much) preferred). AutoWake works fine with Do Not Disturb and Theatre/Cinema mode. AutoWake requires at least a bluetooth connection between your iPhone and your Apple Watch during the time that you are asleep. You can use Flight Mode on your iPhone, but make sure that you turn on bluetooth.

This is the alarm I’ve been waiting for. Simple and effective, without waking my partner.

It worked like a charm the very first time. However, now it has proved completely ineffective.

Really enjoy the app. Big fan of the other apps by developer (auto sleep and heart watch). Had a couple set up issues - emailed developer, timely response and offered quick fix. App working great after the fix.
  • Fails installation.

Installed 3 times. The app. Does not recognize that the complication is installed on the watch. Hence, it does not respond. The web address of the developer does not work. I really like their AutoSleep app. though. I just wish this app. I also really like their HeartWatch app. I have now given this 5 Stars!!! Dave, a developer helped me correctly install this and I truly enjoy and rely on this app. I’m working on getting the music feature working. But, I'm not sure that I really need it. Dave said many new improvement updates are down the pike within the week. I’m anxious to see what’s next!!! Dave, thanks for your patience with a very unsavvy untechhy.

The most recent version added some excellent options including connecting to HomeKit. This update makes AutoWake more automatic, you can easily customize it to fit your routine. AutoWake, AutoSleep and HeartWatch, three amazing apps!
  • Finally, an update!

It took a while for the first update to this app, but they got it right. Impressed with the snooze and HomeKit integration. As soon as I set my alarm, my bedside lamps turn off via a trigger. Nice! I also use AutoSleep, so this integrates very nicely. I had stopped using it and was going with the stock alarm. This update changed that and I’m glad it did. I am going with 4 stars until I can fully test all updated features. I do think the smart alarm needs a little tweaking as it missed me up and about this morning and didn’t trigger alarm at that point. But, I can FINALLY recommend this app thanks to the update that includes snooze (and snarky comments from iPhone when activated), HomeKit integration and scheduling. **Update after a few days on new version** I think we need bigger buttons to turn off or snooze alarm. Seems to take several tries to tap the button correctly in the morning. Bigger buttons and smaller pulse reading/time of alarm would be preferred. Otherwise, still impressed with the update.

Watch app doesn’t always let me select menu options. Sometimes just doesn’t work. Super unreliable app from otherwise great developer.
  • Love this app

I'll change the setting to "light sleep" 15 min window, and it'll immediately change back to "no way". I've had to set back up alarms now, rendering this app useless to me.
