Hokusai Audio Editor App Details

Hokusai is a multitrack audio editor for iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Record or import a track, and make it sound the way you want it to: not just trimming the ends, but full cut, copy, paste and delete, and a suite of filters and special effects available. "Beautiful clutter-free interface" — TouchProducer.com "Hokusai will convince you that audio was meant to be edited with a touch screen — it's just so natural within this app that you’ll find yourself consistently coming back to it." — iOS Music And You Edit many tracks side-by-side, mix them together, and export to Wave or MP4 format — then transfer them to your computer, send them to another app on your device, or upload to cloud services. Hokusai is streamlined to give you a clean, clear view of your tracks. Use the familiar pinch and swipe gestures to zoom right in and fiddle with fine detail, or step back to see the big picture. Select pieces of audio. Live "scrubbing" means you can hear the sound under your fingertip as you make your adjustments. And you needn't fear a bad edit with our full undo/redo support — even after closing your project. Hokusai comes free with a set of useful tools such as fade in/out, normalise volume levels, reverse time, and basic synthesis. If you need more power, you can upgrade from inside the app to add new tools and effects, including: Per-track volume/mute/panning, selecting across multiple tracks at once, presets and favourites, grain synthesis, noise gating, time-stretching, pitch-bending, echo, reverb, modulation (AM & FM), resonance, distortion, grunge, vocal levelling, monster voice, high/low/band-pass/notch-cut filter and more — many of which can be previewed live.

  • Amazing

Works fantastic. There's so many options to edit audio, just like computer software level of options. Worth the price.
  • Absolutely The Top’s

This audio editor is so fully functional that I paid for the upgrade just to support this developer(s) it is straight forward and so easy to use. I am just a hobbist drone pilot that includes music in my videos and believe this to be my companion in my workflow.
  • It's an Amazing App

This app enabled me to do what I normally do in Adobe Audition. It's a great tool to have when you're on the road/run. Best of all, it did not take long to get the hang of the controls.
  • Amazing app!

This app is truly amazing! The free version does everything I need it to do. I can easily edit a recorded service down to fit the radio station’s schedule. The scrubbing is so smooth. My only suggestion would be to add .mp3 as a sharing format. Love this app!
  • Amazing app, amazing service

Wooji Juice has made the best possible impression on me. Both for the ease of use of apps, the quality and functionality of said apps, but also a consistently friendly and immediate response to questions/concerns. Did I mention I’m 100% blind, and I’m still able to make use of this and Ferrite? Even Apple’s native DAWs and voice recorders aren’t this user friendly. Wooji Juice, thank you so much. Suggesting this to all my musician friends, whether sighted or blind.
  • Terrific and worth the price!

Best audio editor app in AppStore
  • Update messed it up

    By Raydog is awesome
After the update it's not letting me see any of my tracks. It's not showing any of the options below the tracks. I named my projects and when I open them the top says Project Title. If you click on the paper with a wrench in front it doesn't do anything. When I try to import from google drive it says that there's no internet connection when there really is. This is actually the first time I had any problems with it.
  • Great for on-the-go editing

I moved completely to iPad recently, and thus lost the audio editing capabilities I had on my MacBook. As I looked for a replacement editing software, I found many mediocre substitutes. It was with this app that I found all of the features (some through the pro upgrade) that I needed for successful podcast editing. All-in-all, this is a very intuitive app with a great UI. I appreciated the ease of audio editing on iPad after using this app. Favorite features: Apple Pencil integration, noise cancellation, and overall easy editing interface. Unhelpful features: I cannot figure out how to keep the scrolling needle in view. Perhaps integrating a scrolling sound wave that moves with the needle, especially once it moves off the screen. Thanks, again!
  • Simple splicing

I’m technically savvy but Garage Band is beyond my capabilities. I don’t want to do much with audio and this app did what I wanted, exactly the way I wanted. Give it a try.
