App Reviews

  • No payment please

Of course they don’t teach you the whole language for free. That would be too nice.

Night and day difference between Rosetta Stone and Duolingo. You get what you pay for
  • Fun and convenient

    By Inversejenna
Really intuitive, fun and convenient since I can use it on my iPhone OR iPad wherever I am. Highly recommend!
  • Not so well…

It makes you pay after a couple levels so you can’t finish the game
  • Great content, buggy implementation

    By relrotciv
I am learning Chinese with Rosetta Stone. The content is really great, and I made a lot of progress with the app. However, the implementation has a lot of space to improve. The app is very slow to start from time to time (possibly this correlates with slow internet, but I have all the lessons downloaded for offline use). Every now and then it will tell me that I am jumping ahead and I should start with core lesson, and at the same time it shows that I completed the core lesson. Switching between Rosetta Stone and another app (e.g. google translate) makes RS freeze (the sound is there, but the screen shows the lesson progress, and doesn’t react to anything), and the app has to be restarted, taking a lot of time to start.
  • Bug fixes

    By srpierce
I can’t honestly even say whether the contents of the app are great or not because every time I try to sign in, I get an error code or two. I have to uninstall and reinstall the app every time I want to log in and it’s just not worth it. I’m glad I’m not a paying customer or I would be extremely upset about the poor firsthand quality of the app.
  • Has become a waste of time

    By omaha1020
This app used to be great but the speech recognition rarely works now. I waste more time stopping my lessons, closing/restarting, uninstalling/reinstalling just to hopefully get it to work. Occasionally it will but most of the time I just quit my lesson (in frustration). I don’t feel like I’m getting what I paid for now.
  • The app is crapp

    By Doyle Nick
Rosetta Stone is great. I feel like I'm learning a lot. The app detracts from the experience. It freeze-crashes during lessons. It randomly launches the pause menu. It often refuses to listen to me during the speaking exercises (not a right or wrong answer, just nothing). It's slow to launch exercises even when they have been downloaded to my phone. Just not a great experience. My head is already swimming from the Spanish, I don't need the app to be a headache as well.
  • Doesn’t recognize speech frequently

    By Jo769
I want my money back. The app fails to recognize speech half of the time. When it goes into failure I have to restart the app and then resume the lesson in order to get it to recognize any sounds.
