It is a great point to point nav app. It does a great job synching with Bluetooth and providing voice directions, although the pronunciation of German and Dutch street names by the English speaker is bad. It is now my full time nav device in the car replacing my standalone GPS. In my opinion CoPilot does a better job of routing and has the option of quickly dragging the route to modify it. Which also brings me to the next point and why it only receives three stars. I bought the app hoping to use it for motorcycling by loading preplanned or downloaded routes to follow. It will easily load custom routes and will follow them. The problem is that if I don't hit each waypoint exactly it will keep routing me back to that point instead of skipping to the next point on the route. The only work around is to stop and manually delete the previous point to force it to route me to the next waypoint. This process is not really feasible on the road. One other issue I've run into is with the load routes page. When selecting saved routes to load, the "delete" and "open" buttons are side by side. If I accidentally hit the delete button there is no secondary confirmation question asking if I am sure that I want to delete the route. I've hit it accidentally and it deleted the route with no way of recovering it. Hopefully these improvements will be made in updates soon. When they are it will be a five star app.

Doesn't work offline. I downloaded this for my recent trip to Sweden. It doesn't work offline whatsoever (which was the main point in buying the app for $35.99). You have to turn on cellular data and roaming for it to find a "GPS fix" then if you turn it off once it finds it, it stops navigating. So what was the point of buying this???? False advertising. I want a refund. And also I think the other reviews that say its good are fake.

I recently returned to Europe and this time tried my hand at driving on the "wrong" side of the road. With this new learning curve I certainly didn't want to worry about a map or even using google maps on my iPhone to navigate. Copilot took all the worry out and I just followed the ladies voice telling me to "take third exit at roundabout!" Highly recommend. One caveat. Be sure to "kill" the app when you're done driving or the GPS will remain active and kill your battery.

Due to frequent travel to Europe from the States, I bought this app primarily because all the map and direction data resides locally on the iPhone 4 itself; it could be used without an expensive European/roaming data connection. Since the GPS on the iPhone will not work in Airplane Mode (unlike Wi-Fi which can be turned back while in Airplane mode), I disabled Cellular Data and Data Roaming, kept 3G off, and the GPS worked great using this program. I was pleasantly surprised at the program's accuracy (for example, "in 500 yards, take 3rd exit at circle" - it was spot on). We had purchased a hard copy atlas as backup, but did not have to refer to it once. Didn't give it 5 stars because: - it was missing some significant sections of the M7 highway between Dublin and Shannon in its database. Perhaps if I would have used it with the iPhone's data connection active, this would have rectified. The highways in Ireland don't get any bigger than the M's, so I was a bit surprised by its absence in those sections. During these missing sections, the program kept trying to route us onto the smaller roads that would have been the route prior to the M's construction. Since we knew we were going in the right direction, we just blew off the instructions, and sure enough, the program picked up our route when we reached sections of the M7 it was familiar with. That was the only problem with the map data we had. The map data in the smaller towns was very good. - moving the map around on the screen takes some getting used to--it's very "inertial". Swipe a finger too fast, and it was very easy to overshoot where you wanted to go on the map. Overall, was really glad to have this app on my iPhone. It got us everywhere we needed to go. Will definitely use it again on my next trip to Europe.
  • Avoidance of toll roads option missing

Good working program with many useful facilities. If there had been an option of routing to avoid toll roads, I would have rated it 4 stars. If there also had been an in-app possibility to upgrade the map data to newer versions (as they come), I would have rated this program 5 stars.
