  • Loss of paid features, poor performance

    By scottmandoo2010
DO NOT UPDATE! Terrible update that removed features I already PAID FOR, and moved them to a subscription. Worse (maybe) is that the performance is dog slow now, and has a poor interface. Takes forever to load radar now. Used to be so simple, informative, and quick-loading - one of my MOST USED apps! The icon for your current location is enormous and ruins localized viewing. Sooooo disappointed. UPDATE: They are apparently trying to fix stuff (like the huge location icon), but this app is still (1/21/2018) truly a shadow of its former self. Maybe it’s due to changes in iOS, loss of data source, small developer...whatever. Anyway, I feel like I got my $3.99 for paid feature usage over the years - just sad that it’s gone now, and will not pay a subscription for it. MyRadar app is much better - unfortunately I will have to switch to that one going forward.
  • So long and Thanks for all the Fish

First, thank you to the developer who made one of the best weather apps I've ever used (circa 2015). To see satellite IR transition into land-based radar was a first of it's kind and people from Alaska and the NE were especially happy to see maritime storms before they hit land radar. The Lightning and flood warning areas was awesome too. I also realize that live lightning networks requires subscription licensing per user in the terms and possibly you were eating this cost in the background, so a single app purchase for life doesn't cut it with such high re-cutting costs. I also know that bandwidth costs can be immense when streaming 12 frames of high resolution imagery to 1000s of users and also processing all the incoming NEXRAD and other raw site data is not a simple single CPU/server problem, which adds to cloud costs. Might I suggest a few ideas... Start over with v3.0. Start with stuff that made the app great and add in the new items that seem important. Bring back the slider everyone loves and choosing your time between frames(updates). If lightning costs $$ per user/yr from your source or extra frames server load costs $, then make it an in-app purchase and be up front about the yearly fee to recoup costs, of the app is good, people will pay for that. Make sure to have a free version for those who don't have extra funds and just want to know if their house will food or be hit by a tornado soon. If this was a fun post-college experiment that has now grown into a stale 1-star pain as virtual boos are raised and you feel let down by your fans. Be man enough to turn the project/source over to an alternate company with fresh ambitions to do all the maintenance items like designing 15 different GUIs for different handset/tablet screen sizes and bringing back the kick-butt app I once knew and loved. As of Jan 20, 2018 even my glorious old version of the app on iOS9 has now ceased to work, meaning someone there has pulled the server plug. Sad to see it go, like my old Palm pilot. Happy to have had an amazing app while it lasted and thanks for all the fish.
  • This app used to be great, terrible now

Went from the best to worthless. Too bad
  • Was good

Once upon a time this app worked. Not now.

Wait so you mean to tell me I’m paying $2 for the app then I have to pay $1 every month just to see what the radar will look like up to 6 hours from now? Yeah, no thanks. This is a disgrace now. Go back to the way this used to be.
  • Oh how the mighty have fallen

    By Livegood
I used this app for many years, it was awesome. The new update wiped out all of that. The old version was so good, I would have gladly paid $5 to the developer again if they needed money. But this new version with a subscription isnt worth $2. Great example of how not to rewrite a five star product....and turn it into one star as you can see from all the one star ratings.
  • Pure garbage

Everything has been ruined and developer keeps providing bs answers. Truly disgusting and greedy bait and switch.
  • Horrible

It really upsets me that an app that I paid for in the past is now asking me to subscribe to a monthly fee for services that used to come with the app for free. Not only that, but the new interface is garbage. This app is total trash now.
  • Update has rendered this app useless

    By mckayman
Such a tragedy. This was the only app I could actually rely upon to reference real-time weather data. Now the radar won’t load after waiting for minutes and none of the features on the app function properly. Why!? Please make the old version of this app available again. I would happily pay for it a second time.
  • Where’s did futurecast go?

    By tbolson1
This used to be my go-to weather radar app. Futurecast no longer works so this app is pretty much useless now.
