  • Amazing, but there’s one tiny bug

    By Libe116
The app itself it’s amazing, I love it to death but there’s a tiny bug that whenever I try to add something to my favorites, the app crashes, that’s all the complaint I have, the rest? Super amazing, really deserve that 5 star rating.
  • Beautiful but Has a Bug

EDIT: I’ve recently noticed that none of the objects in the sky line up properly with the stars I’m viewing. Once the moon was literally on the opposite side of me as I saw it in a different location in the app. I’ve tried all of the fixes as suggested by the app, including putting in my location manually. I realized the issue was contingent upon the “perspective” the app shows you when it’s open- it assumes you can see the horizon and sets you further back than the horizon as if you were viewing the sky from high up instead of ground level. I have to zoom in on the sky to get the stars/moon to match properly and it’s frustrating because even then I can’t tell if I’m doing it correctly. I like this app a lot, but the free version is much more accurate in lining up stars and planets properly with the actual ones I’m viewing. Plus it’s annoying and time consuming to have to fumble with the location and settings for 10 minutes before trying to view the stars with a friend or loved one. ———————— This app is seriously stunning and sets high standards for all other VR and astronomy apps- it’s breathtakingly beautiful and equipped with everything you need to start your journey across the stars- even if it’s only for a few minutes whenever the mood suits you. I love that I can alter the time and speed of the skies and how I can favorite stars and galaxies (and anything else) I want to come back to later. The reminders and notifications of events are also wonderful. The information provided for each star, planet, and radio/satellite is spectacular! It’s a gold mine of entertainment for children and it can fascinate other adults just as much. At first I was just pleased with just the graphics and the novelty, but after finding out about lunar libration I couldn’t help but spend an hour reading about it until I finally made sense of it all- I was so blown away. I don’t even know why- I just think it’s so amazing. When I saw the first galaxy in the sky I couldn’t even believe it was a galaxy- I thought it was a star- yet it was this amazing and stunning collection of life laid out in black, like a spiral of diamonds. Looking at it with this app made me feel so small- and I mean that in the best of ways. It gave me a sense of excitement for the unknown and instilled the once-lost wonder of knowing there’s so much more in existence than what’s here on earth. It really puts things in perspective. Simply amazing.
