  • Doesn’t work anymore

    By yisabear
Why don’t you keep updating it? I can’t check any word with it on my iPhone X.
  • Update

    By Funlovingkarl
Dear developer. When are you going to develop & publish the LDOCE6 version? long time no update, it is a time to use a new version. Pls, let me know. Pls, do not turn deaf ears, otherwise, customers will turn their backs on you. Kim.
  • Don’t have most words that I need help with

    By Meimei Lee
This dictionary has very limited vocabulary, I used to get longman perhaps a year or two ago with better vocabulary, then I had a new phone, all of a sudden I couldn’t find the old longman, mistakenly, i downloaded this dictionary and purchased the service, it does not worse the money at all. Not even close to what I expected from it. Don’t waste your money on this one!
  • It totally couldn’t work in iPhone X!

    By ClementSky
I can’t search any word in iPhone X, even an ‘a’! Please DO update your app!
  • The best EFL/ESL dictionary

    By Alex Linguist
Recent update: This is the best ESL/EFL dictionary (that is, its contents). The app, however, is subpar. No updates for more than six months, and, sadly, it crashes on iPhone X. Please listen to your customers. Update: I think we should be able to (globally) customize what all entries should look like, so that if I need examples or collocations I wouldn't have to tap buttons all the time. Second, even though the app runs well on both my iPhone (6s plus) and iPad Pro, it doesn't look good on the iPad Pro. I'd appreciate if you could release an update for the iPad Pro, and not just in the landscape mode. Honestly, I don't quite like the landscape mode. Finally, a suggestion to lexicographers of LDOCE. Please make sure all lemmas have at least one full-sentence example. This feature is critical to L2 English learners. Previous review: I have virtually all the dictionary apps but LDOCE-6 is the best. Well-chosen examples, with audio, lots of useful information (collocations, thesaurus, frequency, etymology). Most importantly, this dictionary is the result of careful, corpus-based research done by professional lexicographers and not some easily googlable free stuff hastily put together. Strongly recommend to serious learners of English.
  • It Needs to be Improved

    By Mohsen from Iran
Rich Contents, but Poor Facilities and Appearance The current version, can be improved more. I have some suggestions for enhancement of the dictionary: 1) Having a Leitner box (adding an option for putting a word into the Leitner box), and reminding them in notifications, with an adjustment to the number of words per day. 2) If the bookmarks and Leitner box, could be synchronized with iCloud, It would be more modern. 3) It's better to bring the main parts of speech, for instance countable or uncountable, on the main screen, rather than in word information button, to be more convenient. 4) Adding phrasal verb and idiom search. 5) Adding this ability that if the user misspelled a word, the dictionary can help the user to find the aimed word, like the computer version of LDOCE. In this application it works poorly. 6) Putting a link for downloading the whole audio data of sentences, as an optional download inside the application, that allows LDOCE to play sentences offline. 7) The graphical interface is not vivid and needs more enhancement. 8) For studying 9000 core words, it's difficult to find the last word the user has studied, if it was started from the last read word, it would be more convenient. 9) Word of the day section, notifies almost useless, and worthless words that don't help neither in communication nor academic settings, if it was from 9000 core vocabularies, it could be more practical, or it was from bookmarked words. 10) For gathering of 9000 core words, it's obvious that a lot of effort has been made, but in this application they can't be used what this attemt deserves. 11) As I look up more words, I notice there are some deficiencies, for example for the entry "amendment", the collocations are missed, while in computer version exist. 12. Allowing users choose the number of words they would like to receive in their notification every day. (I mean words of the day, rather than word of the day) 13. The time, antenna strength, and other items should be visible while someone works with the app. Thanks a million to Pearson's team, and I really appreciate their efforts and wish them all the best. I bought this application to support them to develop more and more. Good Luck
  • A very big shame for you

  • Stupid dictionary

    By Hassan Ameli
Very very awful I think LDOCE plus is the best Unfortunately Apple store omits it
  • What’s your plan for wasting people’s money

    By Hamidjahani
I had LDOCE+ although it was expensive, worked great. After two years I found you have new one LDOCE 6 from the point that I thought you may solve the problems, I bought it but what and where is the payoff not only don’t you have anything better even worse. Font is ugly verbs’ tables are eliminated and even the worst you don’t manage to find some words like nitpick. What have you done? you may plan to make longman dictionary one of the poorest and the worst one or make fun of your software or call into question your reputation. What you do is not good believe or not you have done wrong.
  • Needs improvement

    By Akiiiiiiiu
Im using this dictionary for years, honestly speaking, LDOCE was much better and simpler, i need the quick access to collocations and phrasal verbs . I hope in new update we’ll be able to have a quick access to the phrasal verbs.
