App Reviews

  • Invaluable

    By Qonthetrail
This has been so helpful for pinpointing location. I wish it could track without using so much battery and it would be great if it could share your route not just your location. Worth it.
  • I’m in my tent right now.

Most everyone out here (Appalacian Trail) is using Guthook’s app. It is invaluable to me. The comment section has information from other hikers everything from recommending shuttles and where to stay in town, Bear activity at the upcoming shelter or camp site, to where there is a good cell connection. We are living in the future, y’all!
  • Awesome App

This app has made the difference between success and failure on my GA section hike. I knew where I was every step. It gave me a level of confidence that I did not possess as a first time solo hiker. Thank you so much for the help and peace of mind!

Fast, efficient and with a topo map showing elevations. I like it
  • Inaccuracy

iPhone app is different from android. I have the iPhone version and it seems to be less accurate. At times, it will can be off up to 30 or 40 miles from town to town. Which is dangerous when planning for food.
  • Watch out for that.......!

The app is helping in finding trail heads and in measuring progress. So glad to have it!

  • Must have

Good app. I am pretty frugal but this is money well spent. I consider it a must have for the long trails.
