  • They don't deserve that star.

I bought this app, I used it for a little over a month then needed to upgrade my phone. I get a new phone, same phone and plan but have issues. They no longer support the phone, They tell me I have to wait for the update. I get another phone and download it and they have no record of my previous purchase, so I send them a copy of the receipt, then they said it was that I have an I phone, (I also have an android) then they said I can't use the app because it's no longer supported. Bad app, with much worse people. (I have the android phone I purchased the app on, I still have my Google accounts. At every interaction I was handed an additional excuse. First it was that they had no record of my purchase, so I supplied the receipt. Then they said it was not useable with this device, so I explained I still had the original device. Then they said they were no longer offering that app for sale or working on issues with that edition and if I wanted to use it I would have to pay the $15 again.) I needed the product to do one thing, supply me a map of the region I am boating in. The extras sounded cool but when you can't do the very thing you are being purchased for it makes the purchase seem ignorant.
  • Not sure if I really like it.

I bought the app to use mostly on Lake Michigan. The app works but it has a few issues. First, it has only a few of the Mariñas in some areas. Second, must of the times the routs when you use "boat to" takes you inland. Apparently the app cannot define very well between inland and the water. Third, it doesn't really gives you the waves report; you have to find some buoys and many times it reports the wrong wave size. When you click on Buoys does not give you the wave info either. Fourth, once you start the navigation it does not give you the distance to your destination just the information since you started the trip. The map doesn't update your location automatically so you are force to go their way which most likely than not takes you inland. For being the #1 boating app as they claim, they have a lot to improve still. It is $10 a year after all.
  • Must I pay on every device?

I have a paid version of Navionics on my iPad. I have a paid version of Navionics on my Raymarine chart plotter. But I have to pay again for a third subscription to get it on my phone? That's just nuts.

I am a new boater, and all my experienced boating friends have encouraged me to familiarize myself with the areas I want to visit, so I checked out this app. I was specifically looking at the Spokane river as it flows out of Lake Coeur d' Alene and the charts are simply all wrong. It shows depths of 0-2 feet where there are docks visible on the map and I know for a fact that the area is completely navigable with an average depth suitable to most personal watercraft. Now I'm bummed because I'm unsure whether I can trust this technology or not. What's the deal?

  • Lowrance plotter sync doesn't seem to work

Giving this four stars as the app is solid in general but the new functionality in this release for plotter sync to Navcio units doesn't seem to work. It keeps saying my plotter card is not right and it's a brand new Navionics update card that works fin in the plotter and with updates on the computer. Was really looking forward to this functionality talked to Navionics support and they didn't even know they had released this yet. Hope they get it resolved soon otherwise this app is great.
  • An excellent nav tool, but recent version is SLOW

I've been using this app for a year as my primary chart (beside a Raymarine plotter) traveling from Lake Ontario to the Bahamas and back because of its ability to chart routes so easily, find nearby marinas and fuel docks, and store my track. I also love the community uploads of the sonar charts. With this I managed to come up the ICW without touching bottom in some of the trickiest shoaling spots. Recent version updates, however, seem to have gotten slower and crash often. It looks as if it's going to network all the time. With speed and reliability back, I'd give this six stars if I could.

This app is great and is a must for anyone wanting to find good spots on lakes for ice fishing or summer fishing. I just submitted a sour review about how it was unclear how to subscribe for another annual subscription, but within a few days my questions were answered. I recommend this app to anyone who loves fishing. Tight lines.
