iOS App Reviews

  • Great way to learn!!

    Great content.
  • Great app

After reading other reviews, it is evident that one either loves or hates this app. As for me, I love it. I don' have a lot of time during my day to spend cruising YouTube. With this app, the thing's I am interested in are right at my fingertips when I open the app. One reviewer complained that you have to choose things from areas you are not the least bit interested in; that is true. However, engaging in those little "curios" helps make you a more well-rounded person, so that you capable of participating in conversations in an intelligent manner. The whole idea of this app is to help you learn more about the things you are interested in and expose you to things you don't know. If you don't want to pay for that, fine; go surf YouTube. As I said, I don't have the time for that. I gladly paid the price (and you get a price break if you subscribe for a year) for the convenience and exposure to things I didn't realize I was interested in. If you don't want to subscribe, don't; but don't base your rating on the price.
  • Scam!

It makes you take about 15 minutes worth of questions only to tell you you have to pay before you can see what the apps about

Take the Quiz. Super excited to play. And I have to pay $39.99! WHAT KIND OF INTRO IS THAT. DELETED IMMEDIATELY. No thank you. I can't afford a stupid app to teach me Spanish or video games. We have YouTube. Useless app.
  • Nope

The first thing you need to know is the full experience for this app is $39.99 (can't remember if that's per month or year). If college/university was an app, then this is their version of criminal student expenses. The second thing you need to know is that the process you go through to "individualize" your experience in the app is designed on a blatant ripoff of the Trivial Pursuit circle & wedges. The process itself is way too generalized and if there is a topic you are not even remotely interested in? Well, too bad because you're stuck choosing a minimum of 4 areas from that topic anyway! You're going to have items on that topic whether you want them or not. The third thing you need to know is the layout/design of this app is annoying. The "toolbar" is fine, but the layout of the "CQ"s (what we call "lessons" in the non-app developer real world) is not great from a user-friendly standpoint, let alone a graphic design standpoint. Overall, there is a pretentious smugness to this app that is off-putting to say the least. Save yourself the time, frustration, and money (if you decide to pay their ridiculously exorbitant fee) and, if you want to learn something, search for it for free on YouTube or Google it and have thousands of opportunities (also usually free) to choose from to learn.
  • Fun Facts Fast

I really enjoy my daily visit to Curio. I don't complete every day's lesson sometimes because of other obligations sometimes because the lesson doesn't interest me so much. But, I always try my luck at the crossword and I do enjoy some of the "obscure" facts some day's lesson include.
  • Learn something new

    By Doug2280
I love the fun facts and challenging mini games.
  • Good use of spare time

    By Giovanni_Cardona
A good alternative for Facebook in your spare time
  • Please not so liberal

    By somolake
I really enjoy this app especially the puzzles and the core learning however there is too much liberal content and I would like to see more balance. I will not renew if this stays as it is.
  • I agree it's not free!!!!

    By Erinhatt
Cmon people, wait till you go through the entire setup then you drop the bomb! Now I have to go into iTunes to make sure I'm not being charged for this app which I thought was free. You deserve only one star if that for deceiving the public!
