ETA - trip, traffic & delays for car and transit iOS App Details

Now with Calendar Sync, displaying travel time to your calendar appointments. Supports all calendars across iCloud, Exchange, Google and more. As seen on TechCrunch, MacStories, iMore and AppAdvice == ETA is your personal driving assistant providing you with quick access to travel times and driving directions to all your favourite destinations. Driving times to your locations are conveniently presented on a single screen with an indication of current traffic alongside. In a tap you're delivered pre-routed, turn-by-turn driving directions in your favourite navigation app. Travelling by transit? No problems, ETA has you covered. In addition to driving and walking, ETA offers travel time travelling by public transportation (check to see if this feature is available in your area). ETA is simple to use and provides you with the information you need to navigate your city. It's also a great companion to the navigation apps you've come to love (including Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Transit and CityMapper). ETA is available as an iPhone app, in the Today view of Notification Centre and on your Apple Watch. To allow ongoing updating of the Complication for Apple Watch, ETA needs to operate in the background on your iPhone. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. # Reviews # “[ETA offers] a simpler, faster and generally less cumbersome experience [than maps apps]” - TechCrunch “The app features a beautifully minimal, elegant design that is top notch.” - AppAdvice “This app may be simple, but it is invaluable for people like me who regularly travel across highly trafficked areas.” - iDownloadBlog “It's simple, but it's a really nice way to just glance at travel times without messing around with a maps app.” - Life Hacker “ETA is an extremely useful app that I will use all the time. It's the kind of thing Apple should build into Maps.” - TUAW "While many map apps can give you estimates for a current route, none of them let you save locations as conveniently as ETA does." - iMore # Countries Supported # To calculate travel time ETA requires Apple Maps support for driving directions in your country. iOS App Reviews

  • Buggy

    By Aerospeed
I had previously highly rated this app, but the bugs that lead to drive times not being refreshed, especially on the Apple Watch app, basically make this app non-functional when they hit. Disappointing.
  • Update has tremendously slowed down widget load time!

    By Biftikhar89
Been using ETA for years, with the new update the widget now takes about 15-20 seconds to show travel time, which is a real inconvenience when you're trying to start navigation route while driving. Devs please look into this and fix. Using google maps for travel.
  • New Calendar IAP Buggy

    By Pilotboy172
I have been using ETA for many years, so when they released new in-app purchases, I was excited and willing to support them. I now wish I hadn't just yet. The calendar in-app purchase is riddled with bugs, almost to the point of being unusable. Essentially, because of the bugs, I paid for something and have no new functionality on my phone. I can't see any of my events in ETA and those that I can see are showing me directions to places that are not even remotely close to where the event "guesses" the location's address based on the calendar location name if there is no address on the event. This new feature was not ready and should not have been released like it was. The developers assure me fixes are on the way.
  • A must have for business and play!

    By Robert Morrison
Love it! Great app. Most handy in my daily life of work and getting my kids around to all their events.
  • Wast of money for me

By I wasted my money on this app
It does not let me choose the route I actually take. If I were to take the shortest route offered it would take me to a car pool only hwy on ramp.
  • Needs more

    By Dhsjsjxjdjsjdjxjshwjdjd
Not a bad idea. Cool app; does what it's supposed to do, however it needs a refresh option on both Apple Watch and iPhone. I'm not sure of the intervals of when it refreshes, but I try to get an update on my eta, I have to force close, the reopen the app, which it very inconvenient. Whatever refresh interval is present, the gap is too large. Maybe incorporate a force refresh when you swipe down.
  • Doesn't recognize the city I live in

    By Kooser351
So far the app is accurate but it has my home address city I live in wrong and when I type the correct one in and hit search it doesn't find it at all. I live in waynesboro, pa and ETA has my city as Washington, Pa. if this can be corrected in another update I would have given 5 stars
  • iPhone app works great, watch app not so much

    By apchung
This app does what your standard map app can do already, but it does it so much better. The ability to see a list of locations and travel times is incredibly convenient. The fact that this app works with any of your existing map apps to provide GPS is what pushed me to buy it. The only negative is that the Apple watch complication is slow and glitchy. I tried changing between my saved locations on the watch and that completely froze the app on my watch. I'm currently waiting to see if it will unfreeze itself.

Having already paid $3 for the app and still asking for $1 for a THEME is really asking too much. I'm not opposed to supporting developers... but I don't appreciate being nickel and dimed.
  • Amazingly simple

Best app of its kind. I wish these guys would make more apps. They really know how to make a good one.
