App Reviews

  • Sad free app

    By JessTassone
I downloaded this to test it out. My son uses my iPad and I have apps to which I do not want him to use. It works okay, however when you switch back it scrambles the apps. I read the reviews and in order to stop that they want you to buy their $6.99 a month package. No thanks.
  • Used for years - great app!

I used this app for both of my children. Now that they are adults, I have this app to thank for helping me set rules and be consistent. Thank you!
  • It’s okay

At first I loved the app, I loved being able to control the iPad usage in our home. The 3 stars is for the fact that when I was grant usage and put an amount of time i.e 45 mins, it would not block at the 45 min mark. That was very disappointing and dissatisfying. They need to fix this issue, and it would be my FAVE. Until then, i will cancel my subscription and stick to taking the iPads away
  • Horrible- limited amount of times you can block

    By 1DBB79
I downloaded the basic version. Wasn’t even worried about blocking individual apps. As I was testing- I told me that I had exceeded my allowed number of blocks this month (maybe 5), within an hour of downloading the app. And tried forcing me into purchasing the paid version. Crap!
  • Major problem

My daughter has panic disorder and ocd when I blocked her phone it took all of her icons off her phone out of folders when I unblocked them it took them out of folders did not put them back in the right order so they were all out of folders rearranged the arrangement of her apps and she has screens of apps and it caused a major panic attack.
  • Not for tech savvy kids with an iOS device

    By GMV514
My 11 year old figured out how to override this app within 20 min. On iOS systems, he went into his settings and under device management removed the management of Our Pact. When I contacted the app developer I was told that due to Apple restrictions and policy, they cannot prevent profile removal on an iOS device. They said they would immediately send me an email informing me of the removal when it occurs. However, that doesn’t help me at all when I am not with my child in order to pair it again.
  • Bugs

Inconsistent control of apps. Settings for apps not always working. And recently, my daughter can’t even use the app unless I manually grant her time. The OurPact Jr app is one of the apps that is disabled on her device so she can’t even turn it on. I have spent time with their support, installing, uninstalling, etc and nothing works. Hours wasted trying to get this app to perform as intended. I see all these positive reviews and in talking to other people they have had similar issues with this app. No idea why it is rated so highly.
  • Works half the time

    By Stardusted
I got the our pact jr so my daughter wouldn’t lose her app organization. And that works fine. The allowance portion regularly doesn’t pause in a timely way so she is always losing 15 minutes or sometimes hours which is not great when she only has 2 hrs/day. I’ve seen this happen many times (not just taking her word for it). Currently the app on my phone is stuck on “Grant pending” and has been for a week. My husband works for Comcast and we have high speed internet. There is no reason for this to be happening. I contacted our pact and they have no help other than “make sure your connection isn’t slow”. Not helpful. I’m looking for a different solution.
  • Free version is not what you see on screenshots

    By amyotsuka
You have to pay to get any of the features they show. The free version only allows you to set a daily schedule, otherwise there’s a monthly fee starting at $1.99. So before you go through the efforts of signing up, know this.
  • Easily defeated

    By Demicrown
Great app, except a child can easily turn off device management on their phone. Instructions for doing so are widely available online. What’s the point of paying to manage a child’s phone if management can be disabled easily?
