App Reviews

  • Love this but there are some bad UX and other probs

Love the meditations and Dan and company’s take on meditation. Jeff Warren is the star of the app for me. But there are inherent problems with the app. First video downloads. I off-lined one practice and somehow got 2.6 gigs of videos. Way more videos than the one course. And the UX is clunky and restrictive. No search function (search by name, type, person leading it). There are categories but that’s a lot to scroll through. And then categories are in reverse chronological order. As in newer come first, like a podcast. But some categories build off the earlier ones. The uncensored meditations for instance. So you really want to start with the first which comes up as the last on the category. Simple changes would make this amazing but I still give it 5 because it helped me. I’m currently 6.7% happier. Hey dev team, I shot you an email about the changes. Find me. Let’s chat.
  • An essential to my daily routine, but...

The latest release crashes on my iPhone X as soon as the app is opened. I've contacted app support and received no response. It's hard to accept that level of service as a annual paying customer. Update: going to 3 stars. I had to uninstall/reinstall which lost all my favorites. Releasing a bug of that magnitude says something about the QA/testing improvements needed. I do love the app though. The content quality is unparalleled.
  • Game changer

Everyone has told me that I need to meditate my whole life - but I had some discomfort with it - that it might be in some conflict with my faith - and I always felt Like I failed when I tried. This app makes it completely doable and secular and it has made me a better person in every way. I can feel a difference in myself when I don’t use this app. Especially love Joseph!

Came to this app through the book Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics. There are many free guided meditations and you can sign up for the newsletter which also offers free advice and guidance as you develop and grow in your practice. If you’ve never meditated before this is the place to start. The teachers are encouraging and there are meditations for all aspects of your body and psyche. Give it a try - you won’t be sorry.
  • The best meditation app!

This is definitely the best meditation app I have found. Absolutely love it!! If you’ve been wanting to try meditation but didn’t know where to start give this app a try. If you’ve been meditating for a while but haven’t really gotten into it yet, this could be your perfect solution! If you have been meditating for ever and love everything about your practice but want to freshen it up - this app is awesome! Seriously, try it.
  • Great Introduction, but worthless beyond that

Once you open this app, it has a pretty good introduction and the great value of meditation. However after only a few days the app becomes absolutely useless, unless your willing to pay the subscription fee. At the price you would pay for even one months fee, you would be better served using that money instead to purchase any material on the subject matter on any media.
  • Really is what it says

There are many meditation apps that are great. I have a couple of others that I have used. I can get stuck in the mass volume of it all and also find myself switching meditation focus frequently. The focus nature of this app provides a very simple teaching and a very simple sit. It would likely bore more experienced meditators but that’s not really why it exists. It helps those of us learning to meditate. I am glad to have it. It helps.
  • Most Useful App You Didn’t Know You Needed

I’ve used this app everyday for the past two months. It’s helped me establish a routine that I look forward to every day. With the diversity of instructors, it’s easy to find a course and/or meditation to meet the need of the moment. I’d love to see more meditations that use sound as the object, as well as an overview course on loving kindness meditation. Thanks so much for all you do - the app, the podcast, the books! Speaking of books, I think one of the podcasts mentioned the team was percolating on a book on mediation with and for kids. Yes, please! Kudos on such a wonderful product that makes a difference everyday!
  • Very good meditation app for all skill levels!

I’ve been meditating regularly for over a year now and I have tried several different guided meditation apps and this is among the best. It has a plethora of options for meditations in terms of length, style, instructor, and purpose. There really is something for everyone in this app. The Price is a little steep (at least compared to every other similar service I’ve seen) at $15/ month. My biggest complaint is the inability to sort or categorize any of the different meditations wether it be an individual session or a course. There is no way to organize or create a playlist or even a bookmarks section. This is almost a deal breaker. Having an expansive library without a way to Organize or sort through it makes it really difficult to navigate the app.
