App Reviews

  • Very disappointed

    By trurofox
I was so looking forward to using this app but was disappointed to find the majority of the meditations are locked unless you spend the $99 for the premium access.
  • Deleted as soon as I saw it required an account.

I’m tired of developers ‘requiring’ unnecessary online accounts (or have to use their Cloud accounts instead of Apple’s). While they maybe good to their word about not selling or sharing your information (which you will likely never know if they did do it, which is why to keep your personal information ‘yourself’ is the best answer) but when huge corporations can’t even reliably protect personal information from hackers, how are 98% of Apple app developers going to protect it? The word meditation does not mean anything specific as to what kind of meditation. I get the same benefit from just two (1 AM & 1 PM) 20 minute daily TM meditations. I save an hour and twenty minutes. And don’t forget exercise. Mindful meditation is only part of the equation, as exercise is important for quality of life as eating and sleeping, especially in the last half of your life where it’s most important.
  • Meditations LOCKED for$$$

    By Lola-Berry
This is BS. Free app? Ha! Not quite. It’s free to install, but it’s one big sales pitch. You get 2 or 3 very short sessions for free. Everything else is locked until you either pay $15 monthly, or $9 per month if you pay for a year. That’s $100 a year for a bunch of guided sessions that may... or may NOT be any good. There’s only one expensive way to find out. I feel insulted and duped. They claim the short meditations are in appreciation of our busy lives, but I’ve already lost time discovering the app is nothing more than an advertisement, sending feedback and writing reviews. And now I have to go back to the drawing board. It should be called 10% Less Than Happy.
  • Great app but expensive

    By Tursiops04
I am a start again stop again meditator looking to improve my consistency. There are a lot of wonderful possibilities with this app but $99 / yr is a lot. I agree with many of other reviewers that a partial subscription with access to some of content would be great. Please do consider that! The selection of teachers and subjects for guided meditation is wonderful keep it up! I don’t like not being able to track my unguided meditation just because I am not a paying member. That seems pretty basic element I shouldn’t have to pay for. Don’t you think? It seems like app is trying really hard to extract $$ by severely limiting usefulness of app for non paying members right out of the gates.
  • Cash grab

NEWS FLASH: meditation is free, requires no special equipment, and is up to you. If you need help getting motivated, focus on cultivating self discipline (also free). Giving your money to an already rich man will in no way, shape, or form help you to do what is solely your own responsibility. Own your life, don't be a sheep.
  • Don’t get

    By beamer6996
This app is terrible. All it does is tell you how to meditate an when to meditate. I can find that on YouTube, and the best thing about YouTube is I don’t have to pay monthly fees like on this app
  • Great meditation app

This app is for anyone and everyone who wants to learn and practice meditation. Dan also has a podcast which is very good as well.
  • 10% Everything!!

    By S9852
I have finally found a home! After trying many meditation apps for 2 years, without consistent or noticeable results, I am overjoyed with 10% Happier. I now look forward to meditating every day. I began by reading Dan Harris’s book, Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics, in conjunction with the app. After finishing the book and enjoying it immensely because it is funny, effective and extremely realistic, I’m now exploring the app. The app builds upon the core concepts of the book and has a wide variety of teachers and activities such as meditations for waking, walking, cooking and sleeping. I love that the app also has videos so you can see your teachers and allows users to select varying times for their practice. This is the most flexible, intuitive and practical meditation app that I have found. The phenomenal coaches answer any questions you have. I also listen to Dan’s weekly podcast and love his interview questions and his delightful guests. 1,000% recommend this app!!
  • Great all around!

Dan is a fun guy with a great light hearted approach to an immensely important practice. This app curates a great collection of some of the best meditation teachers!
  • Best Meditation App

    By Iatcpoe
After reading 10% Happier, I thought, Dan really gets me. I’m definitely a fidgety skeptic. This app has allowed me to break into meditation and reap the true benefits. I am 19 days in and going strong. Still have a lot to learn, but this is the best I’ve done with my practice. I’m using the free version and excited to see some different videos have been unlocked. Can’t wait to give them a try!
